The TD Summer Reading Club at Burin Memorial Public Library wrapped with a party for participants Wednesday morning.

In addition to a cake and other refreshments, there was a scavenger hunt, ‘Dora the Explorer’ piñata and other games for the children.

There were 47 participants registered in the club this summer.

The program, open to youth aged 3-9, divided into two groups of younger and older children, met twice a week throughout July and August. The participants read books and made crafts based on a jungle theme.

The free program is a joint initiative of the TD Financial Bank Group along with Library and Archives Canada.
