Activities began on the weekend with an opening parade Saturday, dinner theatre, ‘party on the rocks’ and afternoon church tea. Sunday, the annual Mariners’ Memorial Service was held at George C. Harris House and later there was music in the museum with Earl Pardy.
Yesterday a senior night was hosted at the Lions Community Centre, today the annual Heritage Society Garden Party is scheduled along with a duck race and barbecue, bake bean supper, dinner theatre, an amazing race and youth dance.
The remainder of the week will feature sports, dory races on Wednesday at the waterfront, more dinner theatres, dances, comedy night, barbecues, screening of a short film at the Main Street Youth Centre, kids’ day Friday, lunch time theatre Friday, gospel concert and an ‘epic water raid’ at the youth centre.
This Saturday is ‘Grand Bank Day’.
