The annual Johanna’s Ride the Boot realized $30,000 Aug. 25.

The annual Johanna’s Ride the Boot, sponsored by the Heritage Riders Motorcycle Club, realized $30,000 for the Candlelighters Association and its children’s camp for cancer patients.

Some 225 bikes were on the road Saturday afternoon looping the Burin Peninsula.

Ride co-ordinators Rueben and Barbara Noseworthy of Garnish promote the weekend program in memory of their daughter, tragically killed in a vehicle accident.
