Marystown relay reaches $55,000

The 8th annual Marystown Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Aug. 25 realized some $55,000 for cancer programs and services.

Co-organizers Marystown Couns. Keith Keating and Albert Stacey said despite the fantastic result, team totals were down this year as 20 registered.

One team from Little St. Lawrence, with close of 80 supporters for little Rebekah Winsor, showed their support for the small girl.

Rebekah, a five-year-old daughter of Matt and Laura Winsor, had emergency brain surgery just before Canada Day. To follow along with her progress, visit ‘http://butterfliesforbekka.com’.
