Three more clinic sites added

The Eastern Health Authority has revised its immunization clinic sites to include three more on the Burin Peninsula.

Eastern Health has added three more H1N1 immunization clinic sites to its schedule for today and tomorrow.

The Grand Bank Health Care Centre will host a one-day clinic only from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. today, Nov. 2.

Tomorrow, Nov. 3, two other one-day clinics have also been added at St. Joseph's Academy in Terrenceville and the U.S. Memorial health Care Centre in St. Lawrence. The times for both clinics are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The clinic, which started at the Community Health Office at the Dodge Building in Burin Friday, is continuing this week from 10 a.m to 6 p.m.

The high risk categories for these clinics, started on the weekend, now include:

* Children six months up to 59 months of age (under 5)

* People 5 years to 24 years with chronic conditions

* Pregnant women in the second half of their prenancy (20-40 weeks)

* Parents or other primary care providers (up to two per child) of children under the age of 6 months; and of immuno-compromised children and young adults (up to an including 24 years) who cannot themselves be vaccinated.

Others who do not fall under one of these high risks categories, are requested to wait until later in the vaccination schedule to receive their vaccine.
