The Offshore Helicopter Safety Inquiry has advised Robert Decker - the lone survivor of the Mar. 12 helicopter crash offshore Newfoundland and Labrador - will appear before the Inquiry this Thursday, Nov. 5 at 9:30 a.m.

The Inquiry acknowledged there is a tremendous amount of interest in the information Mr. Decker will provide to the Inquiry.

A significant number of family members of the passengers and crew of Cougar Flight 491 have expressed an interest in attending Nov. 5. While there is space normally reserved for parties with standing in the public hearing room, the parties have allocated some of their space to the family members of the passengers and crew.

Further, there will not be any space for the general public in the hearing room on that day.

The Inquiry is asking members of the general public to view Mr. Decker's appearance via the live webcast available at www.oshsi.nl.ca or Rogers TV.
