The Burin Peninsula District RCMP is seeking the assistance of the community in solving a case of mischief.
Someone, using a paintball gun Oct. 11, shot at a house on Water Street in Marystown. This same residence was also struck by paintballs the night of Oct. 6.
The police advise the general public if you shoot a paintball gun at someone you will be arrested and charged with 'Assault with a Weapon'. This charge is serious and carries with it a maximum jail sentence of 10 years.
If you shoot at someone's private property, you will be arrested and charged with 'Mischief'. This charge is also serious and carries with it a maximum jail sentence of two years.
If you commit the offence of Mischief causing actual danger to life, you will be arrested and charged with same and if convicted you can be sentenced to a jail term of life in prison.
