Canada Fluorspar (NL) Inc. has submitted its environment preview report on the reactivation of the St. Lawrence Fluorspar Mine. Canada Fluorspar (NL) Inc. purchased Burin Minerals Ltd., which had owned the mine and the mineral rights.

Canada Fluorspar (NL) Inc. has submitted its environment preview report on the reactivation of the St. Lawrence Fluorspar Mine.

Canada Fluorspar (NL) Inc. purchased Burin Minerals Ltd., which had owned the mine and the mineral rights.

Environment and Conservation Minister Charlene Johnson announced the submission relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

Proponent Canada Fluorspar (NL) Inc. has submitted the Environmental Preview Report (EPR) along with the Federal Environmental Assessment Report for the mine reactivation.

The EPR and Federal Environmental Assessment Report were required to address deficiencies in the registration document to determine the significance of any environmental effects.

Guidelines for the preparation of the EPR and Federal Environmental Assessment Report were issued Sept. 15. Public comments regarding the document must be received no later than Dec. 14.

The Minister will decide the acceptability of the EPR not later than Dec. 24, upon receiving recommendations from the Assessment Committee.
