Eastern Health has confirmed the existing patient criteria for those to receive immunizations remains in effect.

Current Immunization Criteria:

• Children six months up to 59 months of age

• Children from Kindergarten to Grade 3

• People five years of age up to and including 24 years of age with chronic conditions

• Parents or other primary care providers (up to two per child) of children under the age of six months

• Parents or other primary care providers of immune-compromised children and young adults (up to and including 24 years of age) who cannot themselves be vaccinated

• All pregnant women

• Hospital in-patients less than 65 years of age with one or more chronic health conditions

• Individuals between the ages of 25 and up to, but not including, 40 with chronic respiratory disease such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or cystic fibrosis. Eligibility will require proof of active treatment of the disease (e.g. prescription, labeled medication, insurance forms etc.)

• Individuals undergoing active cancer treatment (chemotherapy or radiation). These vaccinations will occur at the patient's regularly scheduled appointment. Should a patient not have an appointment scheduled for week of Nov. 9, call -1-888-777-2731 to arrange for the vaccination Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

• Transplant patients (including pre-transplant patients on a wait list and directed by their physician to receive the vaccine and post-transplant patients in the last two years).

Burin Community Health Office, Dodge Building 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
