Most people looking to illegally rid themselves of an unwanted appliance will often leave it on a remote road or in an old gravel pit.

Someone went a step further in Grand Bank this month when they dumped a refrigerator over the wharf into the ocean from Lower Water Street.

Burin Peninsula District RCMP indicated the act took place between Jan. 13 and Jan. 16.

Police are also investigating an attempted break and enter at Pharma Choice in St. Lawrence shortly after midnight Jan. 17.

The main glass entrance to the business was damaged, but entry into the building was not gained. A vehicle was seen in the area around the business at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, another break and enter occurred at Keyin College in Burin on the weekend of Jan. 14-15.

In that incident, the suspect caused some damage to the interior of the school and committed a theft.

Anyone with knowledge of these or any other incidents are asked to contact the Burin Peninsula District RCMP at 1-709-279-3001 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
