The cooperation on display for Freedom Park’s Build Day at Donald C. Jamieson Academy in Burin was nothing short of phenomenal Saturday.
Some 400 people from around the region registered to help with the project.
Non-profit organization ‘Let Them Be Kids’ announced Jamieson as a recipient of one of its 50-50 fund matching ‘Helping Hands’ awards last spring. Fundraising efforts for the project realized over $175,000.
Work began at 8 a.m. and the last barrelfuls of fill were emptied around 4 in the afternoon.
