After almost a seven cent a litre rise a week earlier, the Public Utilities Board lopped 5.6 cents a litre off gas pump prices today, Thursday.

The PUB set its weekly maximum prices for all regulated petroleum products in all areas of the province.

Diesel motor fuel increased almost a cent a litre.

Burin Peninsula motorists are now paying $1.406 a litre for regular, self-serve and $1.436 for full service. Diesel is listed at $1.436 a litre.

Furnace oil and stove oil heating fuels moved upwards only slightly.
