The Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association has released the Challenge Cup/Jubilee Trophy final weekend schedule.

The championship round will be hosted at the Middle Smallwood field in Mount Pearl Aug. 30-Sept. 2.

The first game of the Challenge Cup final four round is Friday, Aug. 31, 6:30 p.m. (1st vs 4th) followed by the second match (2nd vs 3rd) at 8:30 p.m. The championship game is Sunday, Sept. 2, at 3 p.m.

In Jubilee Cup play, the first game is Thursday, Aug. 30, at 6:30 p.m. (2nd vs 3rd) with the winner of that match taking on the overall first place team for the season Saturday, Sept. 1, at 3 p.m.

Opening ceremonies for both leagues is a half hour prior to the championship games.

This weekend, the St. Lawrence Laurentians travel to the Avalon Peninsula for two more games in the Challenge Cup men’s soccer schedule.

The Laurentians meet Mount Pearl Saturday evening at 6 p.m. and CB Strikers on the Topsail Pitch Sunday at 2 p.m.

One other match has the Strikers hosting St. John’s Feildians.

This past weekend hometown St. Lawrence Laurentians edged visiting Holy Cross 3-2 on St. Lawrence Day. Marc Pittman, 15 minutes; Clinton Edwards, on a penalty kick at 57 minutes and Tyler Forsey, 89 minutes, scored for the winners. Steve DeLong, at two minutes and Matt Breen, at 12 minutes, opened up a 2-0 lead for Cross.

Cross the clipped the Laurentians 3-2 with Aaron Buckingham, 33 minutes; Zack Wade , on a penalty kick at 80 minutes and Jake Warren, 86 minutes, scoring. Paul Slaney, at  44 minutes and Clinton Edwards, 90 minutes on a penalty kick, replied for the host team..

Mount Pearl blanked St. John’s U-18s Capital Hyundai 5-0 with Ryan Caines booting three goals.

St. John’s Feildians amd Mount Pearl then battled to a 1-1 draw.
