Brad Edwards a 16-year-old high school student from Holy Name of Mary Academy in Lawn, has been selected to play with the Canada Games Men’s Basketball Team next summer.

Topics :
Canada Games , Lawn Recreation Commission , Newfoundland

Edwards has taken his passion for the game of basketball and committed himself to the game. There is no recreational facility in his town for Edwards to play or practice, so he started playing street ball and encouraged many of his friends to play with him on a daily basis.

The town has now recognized the youth’s growing interest in the sport and has partnered with the Lawn Recreation Commission to help build a multi-purpose court so the youth of the town will have a play to grow and develop the sport.

Edwards is excited and nervous about his upcoming training and is looking forward to representing Newfoundland this summer.
