Celebrating folk music and dance in Burin

Burin Arts Council hosts 34th Annual Burin Peninsula Festival of Folk Song and Dance

The songs and stories celebrating the way of life of the people of the province filled the air in the auditorium at Donald C. Jamieson Academy this past weekend for the Burin Peninsula Festival of Folk Song and Dance.

Now in it’s 34th year, the event is hosted by the Burin Folk Arts Counci. Commonly referred to as the folk festival by many on the peninsula, the three-day event highlights the art of story telling, song and dance.
