MARYSTOWN, NL — Members of the Heritage Riders Motorcycle Club helped spread some Christmas cheer last week when they made donations to charities and organizations on the Burin Peninsula.

The club donated $200 to both the St. Patrick Parish and Sacred Heart Parish food banks, as well as another $200 to the Merge.

“The food banks provide hampers to families in need, while the Merge provide a Christmas dinner for approximately 160 people at their facility,” said Lester Antle, club president.

The club also donated $700 dollar to the VOCM Cares Happy Tree, as well as 150 gifts that members collected during the Christmas parades held in Marystown and Burin.

The charities were all deserving of the club’s support, said Antle.

“All groups stated that the needs this year are even greater than in past years.”
