Burin Peninsula’s Got Talent competition held in Fortune

FORTUNE, NL – Performers from around the region shone during the Burin Peninsula's Got Talent competition at the Fortune Lions Centre on Sunday.

Contestants of all ages performed for the audience, providing an evening of music, dance and comedy for all to enjoy.

The big winner was 12-year-old Sidney Hillier of Jean de Baie who took home $500 for her performance.

The judges had a very difficult time deciding on the winners but, in the end, decided to offer a $50 prize to Tyra Tuck of Grand Bank for an Irish dance and ballet routine. Another $50 winner was Amanda Klein for her musical performance.

The event was hosted by Deann Hickman and judges were Gloria Myles of Fortune, Cindy Picco of Marystown and Lee Masters of Winterland.  Dr. Marcia Penwell sponsored the evening.

The Feller from Fortune International Festival committee thanks all participants for their displays of talent and the audience members for their support.
