Laurentians come home to celebrate St. Lawrence

ST. LAWRENCE, NL – People came from near and far to celebrate Come Home Year in St. Lawrence this month. 

A full slate of activities kept everyone busy from Aug. 4-12.

Decked out in their colourful traditional Newfoundland wear, residents took part in a mummers parade. Participants, led by the accordion music of Gordon Drake, made their way around Centennial Square.
The Come Home Year committee sponsored a family fun day on Aug. 7. There were bouncy castles, face painting, a Nerf gun battle and music by Gord Drake. Canada Fluorspar Inc. also came on board to provide pizza and wings for the event.
It was a ‘yabba dabba do’ time when the Flintstones came to St. Lawrence.
The Laurentians took on Holy Cross at Centennial Field during the Come Home Year festivities.
Santa and Mrs. Clause made an off-season visit for the St. Lawrence Day parade.
