Police Officer of the Year nominations
BY GAZETTE STAFF The Southern Gazette
Crimestoppers Newfoundland and Labrador is now accepting nominations for its annual ‘Police Officer of the Year Award’.
The award recognizes a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, currently working in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Nominees should have exhibited outstanding qualities ‘above and beyond the call to duty’.
The general public or any police officer can nominate someone thought deserving of the award. Individuals may submit more than one nomination, however, a separate form must accompany each nomination.
The awards will be selected by a panel and presented Jan. 27, 2010, at a luncheon held at The Capital Hotel in St. John’s.
Crimestoppers has named its ‘Volunteer of the Year’ for 2009. He’s Cordell Hillier of the Lewisporte Crimestoppers Branch.
