GANDER, NL – The backing of an anonymous sponsor has continued to further the dreams of 15-year-old Robyn Slade, who has just released her first music video.

The Gander teen has always wanted to be a singer, and her talents were recognized last year, when a Facebook video of her singing “I know who she is” went viral.

“A lot of fans kept asking when I was going to produce another one,” she said.

Having worked with Shaun Wiseman in the past, he presented Robyn with an original called “Saviour”, a blues gospel, country/rock song.

“As soon as I heard it I loved it, and I wanted to sing it,” she said.

In working with the song, Wiseman put together a quick demo, which was heard by the sponsor, who liked it so much funded the cost of the entire project from studio time to shooting the music video.

To have someone believe in her singing so strongly, “was amazing, and I’m really grateful for them,” she said.

Wiseman feels the same.

The video is set throughout different areas of Gander, in back alleys, along the Trans-Canada Highway and was filmed in July.

“We were kind of brain storming, what kind of theme we wanted, and we kind of wanted something with a bluesy, rock feel,” said Wiseman. “It was a more on the streets look to it.”

They also included a number of locals in the video, holding sign saying they needed a saviour.

“It was really fun, I really enjoyed it…and the video itself was amazing and it’s getting overwhelming support on Facebook,” said Robyn, who noted that she’s received comments from all over the world.

As continues to pursue her music career, Wiseman has already booked gigs, and is thinking about other video possibilities.

And once she gets enough songs lined up, there could even be an album.
