Laurentian lowdown


 St. Lawrence town council met on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

During Tuesday’s meeting the following items were voted on:
• Approval was given to make a $100 donation to the Lions Club for the Christmas parade.
• Approval was given to make a $100 donation to the Daffodil Place-Take a One Night Stand Against Cancer fundraiser.
• Approval was given for Councillor Ernie Lundrigan to attend the Recreation NL’s Eastern Regional Seminar held Nov. 29 in Clarenville.
• Council has decided not to have Targa come to the town this year.  
Mayor Paul Pike said that the town supports the event and are not opposed to having the event in the town, however, they hope to start road maintenance during the proposed time frame for the event.
• Council has voted to continue with the rodent control program until December, at which time they will have further decision on the matter.
• Approval was give to pay accounts payable for Oct. 2016.
