Pike’s Enterprises was named Family Business of the Year during the evening ceremony.
The family has operated on the Burin Peninsula for over three decades.
Jerry Pike and Harvey Pike opened their first store renting Betamax movies and players in Salt Pond, Burin in 1984. The business now includes a convenience store, a grocery store and a building supply centre.
The Employers of the Year are South Coast Insurance for medium-large businesses and the Grand Bank Development Corporation for small businesses.
Community Spirit Awards were presented to Keyin College for medium-large businesses and Extreme Pita for small businesses.
Kelsey Brennan, meanwhile, received the Young Entrepreneur award for her business, the Pupcakery.
As well, the family of the late Ron Aylward of Aylwards Home Centre in Marystown was presented with a plaque in his memory during the event.
