BURIN, NL—The Town of Burin is preparing to call for tenders to retrofit the lift station in the community of Port au Bras.
“The lift station deals with all the sewer for the community of Port au Bras,” explained town manager Leo Hartson.
“We are doing upgrades to the pumping, so it will cut down on maintenance costs to the town.”
The town received funding for the project through Municipal Capital Works under the Small Communities Fund of the New Building Canada Fund.
Hartson said engineers have completed preliminary work, and the town will be putting the tender out soon once government signs off.
“It will be this fall,” he said. “It is in the process now.”
CAP Management was the engineer for the project.
