Grand Bank MHA and cabinet minister Darin King made the announcement in a news release Wednesday morning.
King called the centre very active and said the venue is an important facility used by all ages for many community-related events.
“It provides numerous opportunities for residents of the town to participate in social, recreational and educational activities,” he said. “I look forward to seeing the improvements this funding is certain to provide.”
The release said the project is cost shared on a 90-10 funding basis between the province and the municipality.
It also noted over $72,000 has been invested in the community centre for repairs and upgrades, recreation programs and student employment since 2007.
