Held each year by the association as a warm-up for the spring Heritage Fairs, the contest is open to students from grades 4 to 12
There were submissions from 438 students this year. Each entry included an original piece of artwork and an essay about it.
This year's theme was "Keeping our Stories Alive: Celebrating 20 Years of Heritage Fairs in NL" - "Préservons nos Histoires : Célébrons les 20 Ans des Fêtes du Patrimoine à TNL."
Olivia’s design was entitled “Newfoundland Fairytale.” As the overall winner, the Grade 10 student will receive $100 and will have her design appear on the official Heritage Fair t-shirt.
Six regional winners were also chosen from across the province and received $50 prizes.
