TILTON, NL – A 58-year old Carbonear man has died as a result of a single-vehicle collision on Veterans Memorial Highway near Tilton. The man was the only person in the vehicle.
The crash took place about 4:30 p.m. Thursday between the Spaniard's Bay and Tilton exits.
The man’s car apparently crossed the centre line and overturned in the ditch on the other side of the highway.
First responders with the Spaniard’s Bay fire department and an ambulance crew went to the scene.
A traffic analyst also went to the scene, Bay Roberts RCMP stated in a news release.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The RCMP have closed the section of highway and are diverting traffic from the area, down through New Harbour Road and into Spaniard's Bay. An evaluation of the scene by police and investigation into the cause of the crash has begun.
