Marystown deaths a result of murder-suicide, police confirm

According to a news release from the RCMP on Tuesday, the death of an 18-year-old woman in Marystown on Saturday has been ruled a homicide. Jeff Kilfoy, 37, whose body was found on Sunday, died as the result of suicide. Police have also confirmed the pair were in a relationship.

MARYSTOWN, NL - The RCMP has confirmed the causes of death of two individuals whose bodies were discovered this weekend in the Marystown area.

18-year-old Ryanna Grywacheski, was found dead in a basement apartment on McGettigan Boulevard around noon on Saturday.

According to the RCMP, Grywacheski, who was of Indigenous descent and originally from Saskatchewan, was murdered by Jeff Kilfoy, 37, of Marystown, with whom she was in a relationship.

Kilfoy, whose body was located in a wooded area not far from the apartment on Sunday, died as a result of suicide.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.
