NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR
Premier Dwight Ball and Children, Seniors and Social Development Minister Lisa Dempster will be among those attending the Newfoundland and Labrador 50+ Federation’s 43rd annual convention in Marystown this week.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Marystown Hotel and Convention Centre from Sept. 11-14.
Dempster will deliver the keynote address Wednesday morning, Sept. 12, while Ball will address delegates during the banquet on Thursday, Sept. 13.
Newfoundland and Labrador Lt.-Gov. Judy Foote and her husband Howard will also be on hand during the event. Foote will bring greetings at the banquet.
“Volunteers with the Newfoundland and Labrador 50+ Federation have done tremendous work over the past 43 years to support, promote and enhance the independence and well-being of older adults in our province. I look forward to joining representatives from the federation’s 134 member clubs at their annual convention," she said in a release.
The Newfoundland and Labrador 50+ Federation Inc. represents a membership of over 6,900 throughout the province.
