Police release information on deceased in fatal Howley Junction accident

Transportation workers clean up debris from the Trans -Canada Highway at the scene of an accident that saw three killed nearly the Howley exit Wednesday morning.

An accident near Howley Junction on the Trans-Canada Highway claimed the lives of two women and a man Wednesday.

Police confirmed the ages and hometowns of the three victims of the two-vehicle collision just west of the junction.

A 56-year-old woman from Sop’s Arm, a 44-year-old woman from Pollards Point and a 71-year-old man from Labrador were all killed at the scene. Two others were transported to hospital in Corner Brook.
The accident occurred just after 9:30 a.m.
Traffic in the area was delayed throughout the day as work was done to clear the debris.
The highway has since reopened.
The incident is still under investigation.
