Weather alerts still in effect for Newfoundland as Labrador added to the mix

It’s been a messy day of weather in Newfoundland with snow, wind, ice and rain, and it isn’t over yet for many areas.

Environment Canada still has numerous warnings all across the island of Newfoundland and has added some recently for Labrador as well.

Snowfall warnings are in place Bay of Exploits, Bonavista North, Buchans and the interior, Deer Lake-Humber Valley, Green Bay-White Bay, Gander and vicinity, and Grand Falls-Windsor and vicinity.

Clarenville and vicinity, Terra Nova, and the Burin Peninsula are under rainfall warnings.

Rainfall and snowfall warnings are in effect for Burgeo-Ramea and Connaigre.

And Channel-Port aux Basques has a wind warning.

Meanwhile, in Labrador, blizzard warnings are in effect for Cartwright to Black Tickle, Hopedale and vicinity, Rigolet and vicinity, Upper Lake Melville, Postville-Makkovik and Eagle River.

Churchill Valley and Red Bay to L’Anse au Clair have blowing snow advisories.

An extreme cold warning has been issued for Cartwright and vicinity as well as Labrador City and Wabush for tonight with wind chill values expected to approach minus 45 overnight before becoming more moderate on Wednesday.

Norman Bay to Lodge Bay has a winter storm warning.
