RV trailer destroyed by fire in St. John's

Firefighters from the St. John's Regional Fire Department's Kent's Pond and Central Fire Stations responded to a trailer fire on Harding Road in St. John's Tuesday night.

The fire was reported around 10:15 p.m. On arrival, firefighters found an RV trailer fully engulfed.

Flames shooting up into the night sky could be visible from Logy Bay Road as crews were turning onto Harding Road.

The trailer was located in a fenced in area behind Academy Canada and firefighters had to cut through a chain-link fence to access the fire.

Because of a propane tank inside the R/V exploding and being in close proximity to the school, a pumper unit crew from the Central Fire Station was dispatched to the scene to assist the Kent's Pond crew.

Crews left the scene just after 11 p.m., at which time it was turned over to the RNC. No injuries were reported to any of the firefighters.
