Temporary closure of Mill Bridge in Grand Falls-Windsor announced


Users of the bridge spanning the Exploits River behind the former paper mill property in Grand Falls-Windsor will soon lose access for about a week.

The bridge will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic beginning Mon., Aug. 15, at 7 a.m. until Sun., Aug. 21, at 7 p.m.

 Contractor secured for Mill Bridge repairs

 The closure is necessary to repair the bridge which was damaged as the result of an accident. Closure of the bridge ensures the safety of workers, pedestrians and motorists and will allow the work to be completed as quickly as possible, the release added.

The department has been working with the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, as well as business owners, to help reduce any impacts on businesses in the area.

The Department of Transportation and Works apologizes for any inconvenience during the closure, the release continued. Updates will be provided as repair work progresses.
