Musical group enjoyed annual Burin Peninsula folk festival

The Sweet Forget-Me-Nots (a group of seven ladies – five accordions and two guitars) performed at this year’s Burin Peninsula Festival of Folk, Song and Dance.

We would like to commend the planning committee of this wonderful festival for the excellent job organizing and the attention paid to each and every detail. We were very impressed with the other performers, singers, dancers, the company looking after sound and the stage assistant.

We enjoyed both the step dancing and the ugly stick workshops, and I must say, we are all very proud of our ugly sticks. We had a jam afterwards and practiced our step dancing and playing our sticks.

All the people we met in Burin were very friendly and hospitableand couldn’t do enough to make our visit very pleasant.

We would like to extend our congratulations to the committee and others who assisted for the excellent job with the Burin Peninsula festival! What a wonderful way to spend the weekend!
