Nova Scotia boy invited on Carolina Hurricanes team bus after watching NHL game
HALIFAX, N.S. - A nine-year-old boy from Eastern Passage got more than a signed hockey puck at his first NHL game.
Marystown Central High School (in red) hosted the Boys ‘4A’ Provincial Soccer Championships Thursday through Saturday.
Teams also included Mount Pearl High, Holy Spirit from Manuels, Holy Heart from St. John’s and Corner Brook High. Pictured, Marystown and Holy Heart players watched as a shot whizzed by the host team’s goal Friday. Marystown advanced to the Saturday’s championship match, where they defeated Mount Pearl 1-0. Meanwhile, St. Lawrence Academy welcomed seven teams for the Boys ‘3A’ Provincial Soccer Championships last week as well. Paul Herridge Photo
