Paige Allen is off to a great start on the 2018 Tely Junior Golf Tour.

Allen, a budding female golfer at Blomidon in Corner Brook, won top honours in the nine-hole bantam girls division with a 52 round at Corner Brook Junior Invitational Wednesday in Corner Brook.

Allen had nabbed top spot in her division one day earlier at the Harmon Invitational in Stephenville, the first stop on the 2018 Tely Junior Golf Tour.

Kate Lombard placed second in the bantam girls event, seven strokes behind Allen, while Kali Gill rounded out the top three in the field of nine with a 63 round Wednesday at Blomidon Golf and Country Club.

Ryan McNeil Lamswood won his second-straight Tour event by carding an 82 round in the three-person Junior boys event, while Stephenville’s Jacob Alexander finished second with a 92 round in the 18-hole event and Luke Lahey of Grand Falls-Windsor nabbed third place with a 94 round penciled in on the scorecard.

McNeil Lamswood took advantage of home course when the Tely Junior Golf Tour officially got underway Tuesday at the Harmon Invitational at the Harmon Seaside Links.

The talented multi-sport athlete recorded a 36 and a three-shot victory in the junior male division in an event reduced to nine holes because torrential rain caused grief for the young golfers and organizers opted to have them play only nine holes.

Paige Allen of Blomidon won the bantam girls title with a 42 round Tuesday at Harmon, creating a big gap between her and rival Katie Colbourne who wrapped up the day with a 61 on her scorecoard.

Evan Snow of Gander won top honours in the bantam boys division with a 42 round to give him a one-stroke win over Noah Belliveau of Stephenville, while Blomidon’s Sam Bugden mustered a third-place finish with a 47 round Tuesday in Stephenville.
