NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR
The Burin Peninsula chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is getting ready to hold its annual commemorative service honouring victims and survivors of impaired driving from the area.
The organization is reaching out again to anyone who would like to include a name on its memorial monument.
The memorial, unveiled in 2015, is located in the MADD Burin Peninsula Memorial Gardens in Marystown, formerly the Ville Marie Gardens.
The deadline to submit names for inclusion on the monument in time for this year’s service is Friday, Oct. 19.
Injured victims or individuals who have lost a family member to impaired driving may contact Susan MacAskill, MADD Canada’s Atlantic regional manager, to have a name inscribed on the memorial. She can be reached by phone at 1-866-798-6233 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This year’s commemorative ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17.
