David Neal, 52, was charged with aggravated burglary and assault Thursday, March 30, for breaking into a male guest’s room and sucking his toes.

Nashville police were dispatched just after 5 a.m. to 121 4th Avenue South, home to the Hilton Hotel, a spokeswoman for the city’s police department said.

While investigating a complaint, officers discovered that Neal, who was working as a night manager at the time, had created a key card and entered the guest room.

The guest wakes up and sees Neil sucking his toes, which he immediately counters.

The guest recognized Neal because earlier in the day, he had come to the room with another employee to fix a problem with the television, the spokesperson said.

Neal said he smelled smoke so he entered the room and checked on the victim. However, the night watchman did not report this to the security authorities. Also, no other residents reported smelling smoke.

When officers asked where the room key was, Neal replied that he had thrown it away, the spokesman said. The room key was not recovered.

Nashville Police Central Precinct detectives led the investigation and issued warrants against Neal.

He was arrested at his home in Lebanon, Tennessee.

Neal is currently in jail and will be released on a $27,000 bond.
