Despite not selling all their ornaments, the students managed to raise $100 for the Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation’s Tree of Life and Memories.
The school’s gift was in memory of former friends and classmates Aiden Stacy, Siobhan Riggs and Nikki Walsh.
Winter storm days prevented them from being able to present their gift to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation in person.
DCJA Art Teacher Margret Ann Cleal was proud of her students as they completed their ornaments, and sold them in just one day.
“It is very important to remember former students and a great way for the students to give back to the community.”
Foundation Board Chair Jerry Pike thanked the Jamieson Academy students and staff for their kindness and support.
“Their dedication is commendable. This is the sixth year the students have presented their gift to the Tree of Life and Memories. What a great way to help others!”
