BONAVISTA, N.L. —

There is a showing of the documentary film “Regarding Our Father” this evening at the Garrick Theatre in Bonavista.

The film is on Gerald S. Doyle, a businessman, folksong collector, and founder of The Doyle Bulletin.

Doyle was also an avid filmmaker. In the 1930s, 40s and 50s, he traveled Newfoundland and coastal Labrador on his motor yacht, called “Miss Newfoundland.”

Doyle’s daughter Marjorie—narrator of the film—and his grandson Paul are both hosting the event.

While admission to the film is free, they’re asking for a donation to the Discovery Health Care Foundation for entry.

The movie starts at 8 p.m. this evening, Monday, May 13, at the Garrick.
