The most recent Stephenville Lions Community Cafe this past Thursday was special as the ingredients in the soup had vegetables grown in the Community Garden just outside the Lions Club.

Each month, on the second Thursday, the Lions, in collaboration with the Southwestern Housing Stability Initiative, host a Community Café for all members of the community regardless of social standing, financial ability or employment status with everyone welcome to have a free meal in the Lions Den from 11-1.

The Community Café is hosted on the fourth Thursday of every month at the Zion Pentecostal Church Annex and a first is being held at the Royal Canadian Legion on Nov. 1. It’s hoped another organization will get involved and host on the remaining Thursday of each month.
