MARYSTOWN, NL— Jenna Dimmer, owner of Dimmer’s Dynamic Salon, was among the business owners on the Burin Peninsula honoured at the annual business awards on Thursday.
Now in it’s sixth year, the event – hosted by the Burin Peninsula Chamber of Commerce – celebrates the contributions business owners make to the region.
Dimmer said it felt good to be recognized by the chamber.
“I was kind of surprised, but it’s really good,” she said.
Dimmer said she didn’t know she would be receiving the award; she simply received a phone call saying she was invited to attend the ceremony.
Although it was her first time being honoured by the chamber, it was not her first business award. She previously received the Youth Ventures Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Loretta Lewis, with the Burin Peninsula Chamber of Commerce said they were pleased with the event.
“It was a busy evening and the BPCC are very proud to host this event each year during small business week,” she said in an E-mail to The Southern Gazette on Friday..
“Last evening awards dinner was even more special and prestigious because Judy Foote was our keynote speaker. Congratulations to all winners and every nominee. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.”
