RCMP responding to head-on collision between tractor trailer and car

MARYSTOWN, N.L. —

Burin Peninsula RCMP caution the motoring public of poor road conditions along Route 210 and Route 220.  Many areas have reduced to zero visibility at this time.

Police say the roads are slippery and there is heavy drifting in open areas.

Currently, police are at the scene of a head-on collision between a tractor trailer and a car. One man has been transported to hospital for further treatment.

Officers ask motorists to use extreme caution and to expect delays along Route 220 between St. Lawrence and Lewin’s Cove as tow trucks clear the scene.
