MARYSTOWN, N.L. – Federal and provincial government officials were in Marystown this morning, June 28, to announce more than $1.1 million dollars for the town’s marine industrial park.

According to a news release, a project to further develop the park to support the aquaculture industry and create new economic opportunities will see work on seven existing industrial lots.

Activities will include blasting, grading, landscaping, excavating, backfilling, site engineering and project management, the release notes.

The federal government, through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), is providing a non-repayable contribution of $755,584 towards the project while the provincial government is contributing $355,500. The Town of Marystown’s share is $279,560.
