The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has released another image of a man suspected in two separate armed robberies of taxis on Tuesday morning.

The RNC responded to separate calls, one at 5:30 a.m. on Cornwall Heights and the second at 6 a.m. on Amherst Heights.

The suspect demanded cash in the first incident. He was unsuccessful in that attempt, and assaulted the driver before fleeing.

In the second robbery, the suspect entered the car with a firearm and demanded cash from the driver, who fled from the car and was unharmed.

However, the taxi was stolen and crashed a short while later. The suspect fled on a foot with a second male.

In both cases, the suspect was described as wearing a dark (possibly grey) hoody.

Police Dog Services were called to the area, but were not able to locate the suspect(s).

Anyone who recognizes the pictured individual is asked to call the RNC at 709-729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or go to the Crime Stoppers website — www.nlcrimestoppers.com — where information can be provided anonymously.
