FOWLER Catherine "Kit" (Nee Clarke) Passed peacefully in the early morning of September 1, 2019. Kit is reunited with her husband James of 57 years, who passed in May of this year. Kit is survived by her son James; her daughter Judy Ann (Terry) and her grandchildren: Daniel, Sarah and Colin. She also leaves behind her sisters: Mary (Robert), Rose (Jean) and brothers: Cyril (Shirley) and Gary (Edith). Kit was predeceased by her parents: Priscella and Joseph Clarke, and her brothers: Paul (Mercedes), Donald (Mary), Ignatius (Phyllis), and Walter (Barb). She will be sorely missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kit was born “down the cove” in Little St. Lawrence, Newfoundland. She helped raise her younger brothers and sisters and became a teacher in a small school house in her home town. Upon marrying and moving to Toronto, she raised her family and worked with Scotiabank until her retirement. For the last eleven years, Kit and Jim made their home in Guelph, allowing them to spend more treasured time with their grandchildren. Special thanks goes to the staff of the Elliot Community who gave Kit a warm and caring home for many years. Friends will be received at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph on Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 2 - 4 p.m. A Funeral Mass for Kit will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 409 Paisley Rd, Guelph, on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian MPS Society or the Elliot Community would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home (519-821-5077) or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
