Richard J. Turpin, 84, of Paramus, beloved husband and father, passed on Saturday, March 25th, 2017. He was born in St. Lawrence, Newfoundland, Canada to the late Ellen and Verno Turpin on March 7, 1933. Richard lived in Newfoundland until he immigrated to New Jersey in 1952. Richard was a retired electrician and proud member of IBEW Local 102. Richard and Eileen moved to Paramus, NJ in 1968. Richard was an active member of the Annunciation Parish and the Holy Name Society. Richard is survived by his wife Eileen (nee Brick)Turpin and his son Timothy Turpin, brother Dr. Stephen Turpin of Salisbury, NC, sister Betty Coffee of Forked River NJ, and brother Edward Turpin of Ontario, Canada and many nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by six siblings, Josephine Giddy, Aloysius Turpin, William Turpin, Monnie Edwards, Thomas Turpin and Maude Diamond. Funeral Service took place on Wednesday, March 29th at the Vander Platt Memorial Home followed by a 10AM Mass of the Christian Burial at the Church of the Annunciation located at 50 West Midland Avenue in Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of Charity of New York, Mount St. Vincent Convent, 6301 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY, 10471.
