Would you please allow me space in your paper to let the people know that are putting household in the garbage in the garbage cans at the view park in Frenchman’s Cove, to stop immediately.
My daughter and myself are designated to check every morning and take it for collection on garbage days. This is not for household garbage, but for the people who visit there to have some place to put their garbage instead of throwing it around.
It is kept very clean by respectable people.
As I am a Councillor, we did find out who one person was, filling up the collection boxes. They were given a warning, and for a while there wasn’t anymore.
We removed the boxes later as the garbage isn’t picked up by the (Burin Peninsula) waste management committee. Now people are filling up the cans again.
If they are so disrespectable, too lazy and without any respect for the tourists and visitors to take it home, I am sure there is someone out there who put it out with theirs.
If we are lucky enough to find out who they are, our clerk will be instructed to lay charges.
The residents of our town keep their property clean and neat, and we do not appreciate other people taking advantage of the garbage cans and using them as a drop off spot for household garbage, because they are too lazy or dirty to get out of bed and put it out for collection at home.
Elaine Cluett, Deputy Mayor
Town of Frenchman’s Cove
